About Franca Group

Franca Group is an integrated architecture and construction practice based in Ridgefield, Connecticut, serving Fairfield, Litchfield, and Westchester Counties. Founded in 2020, the firm specializes in bespoke residential projects that balance thoughtful design with enduring craftsmanship.

Our work is guided by the belief that the most meaningful homes are those shaped by purpose and proportion, spaces where light, material, and context come together in quiet harmony. By bringing architecture and construction together under one roof, Franca Group guides projects from concept through completion with clarity, collaboration, and careful attention to detail.

Each home is an expression of both vision and craft, reflecting our commitment to creating spaces that are both thoughtfully designed and carefully built.

Leadership

Valmar T. Franca, Jr., AIA, NCARB

Founder and Principal

Growing up in a family deeply involved in construction, Valmar developed an early interest in how buildings are designed and built. That exposure shaped his belief that architecture and construction should work together to create buildings that are both thoughtfully conceived and carefully executed.

His work focuses on custom residential projects where architecture, craftsmanship, and the realities of construction are closely integrated from the earliest stages of a project.

As the founder of Franca Group, Valmar established the firm as an architect-led practice that brings architecture and construction together under one roof. This integrated approach allows projects to move from planning and design through construction with clarity, continuity, and a consistent design vision.

Valmar is a graduate of Roger Williams University and is a licensed architect in Connecticut and New York. He holds the NCARB Certificate and is a member of the American Institute of Architects.

Valmar lives in Ridgefield, Connecticut with his wife and two children. Outside the studio he enjoys soccer, golf, skiing, and spending time with his family.

David Moore, AIA

David views each project as a chance to challenge conventions and advance architectural evolution, skillfully blending modern elements with historic designs and integrating high-performance materials. He has a particular passion for residential projects, cherishing the opportunity to create spaces that resonate with and enhance his clients’ lives. Before joining Franca Group, David led his own boutique architecture and interiors practice, specializing in bespoke renovations and new constructions in NYC, Boston, Miami, and Fairfield County. When David met Valmar Franca, they immediately shared similar beliefs and visions regarding the practice of architecture, and David knew that transitioning back to a collaborative environment was a natural choice. David’s career began at Selldorf Architects, where he spent a decade as a senior project architect, managing diverse projects from penthouse apartments to large-scale commercial spaces, including the 25,000 sq ft David Zwirner Gallery in Chelsea. He is a LEED-accredited architect and licensed in New York, Connecticut, and Florida. David holds a degree from the Syracuse University School of Architecture and resides in Ridgefield, CT, with his wife and three children. In his free time, he enjoys triathlons, camping with his family, and working on restoring his classic Mini.
